Activities and Aims

At St Matthew’s we want your child to grow in confidence and enjoy a stimulating and friendly environment.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to promote positive learning and improve learning outcomes for all children. If you would like to know more about the EYFS then come in for a chat.

It is our aim to help children acquire a positive self-image, a pride in the work they do and high self-esteem, through praise and encouragement.

The sessions are carefully planned to encourage all the children to have fun, whilst improving their personal/social skills and developing their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

We provide a variety of activities and play equipment to develop physical and creative skills and activities encompass all curriculum areas. Our activities change regularly to reflect the children's varying interests.

We use a variety of activities  to introduce phonic sounds, colours, shapes and letter and number recongnition

We promote learning by play and discovery, and aim to help all the children to become increasingly independent. Most of all we want your child to enjoy learning!
